Q:How Well Do Vacuum Erection Devices Work?

A:Studies suggest that about 50%-80% of men are satisfied with the results of VEDs.

Q:How long does it take?

A:This depends upon the nature and degree of your impotence. In a semi-erect penis this can be quickly achieved in four or five strokes of the pump (10/15 seconds). Where prolonged impotence has been the case, 10/20 strokes of the pump may be required and could take several minutes.

Q:Who Should Consider Using a Vacuum Erection Device?

A:Vacuum erection devices are safe and can be used by patients with ED caused by many conditions, including:

  • Poor blood flow to the penis
  • Diabetes
  • Surgery for prostate or colon cancer
  • Psychological issues such as anxiety or depression

A:There appears to be no lower or upper age limit.

Q:What Are the Side Effects of Vacuum Erection Devices?

A:An erection obtained by the vacuum erection device is not the same as an erection achieved naturally. The penis tends to be purplish in color and can be cold or numb. Other side effects can include:

  • A black and blue mark or small area of bruising on the shaft of the penis. This is usually painless and generally will resolve in a few days.
  • Decrease in the force of ejaculation. The constriction band traps the ejaculate or semen at the time of orgasm. This is not dangerous and usually does not cause pain. The semen will usually dribble out once the constriction band is removed. Generally, this does not interfere with the pleasure of a climax or orgasm.

Q:Can I ejaculate?

A:This will depend upon the tightness of the constriction band requirement to hold an erection.

Q:Does the iMEDihelp Vacuum Erection Device / Penis Pumps fit everyone?

Q:How often can I use the vacuum device?

A:You should not keep the constriction ring on for more than thirty minutes, but after removal and a resting period, the system can be used again. However, sensible caution should be taken to avoid soreness from overuse.

Q:Do I need a doctors certificate?

A:No – vacuum therapy devices are clinically proven and no prescription is required.

Q:Can I Use the vacuum device if I am on blood thinning drugs, aspirin etc?

Q:Can I use a vacuum device while using viagra or similar erectile drug?

A:Yes. A vacuum pump or an erection ring from the device may be a useful combination in restoring firmness to erections where prolonged use of erectile dysfunction drugs are in use.

Q:What is the success rate?
